About the place
The water comes from the Zece Hotare plateau and flows through the cave before dropping into the Crișul Repede. The flow depends heavily on rain: in spring and after storms the falls are full, and in dry spells they shrink a lot.
Paths start from Vadu Crișului village, at the car park on the left bank of the river, or from Șuncuiuș along the railway. Some sections have chains to hold and slippery rock. The area is also the starting point for the via ferrata and for longer walks through the gorge between Șuncuiuș and Vadu Crișului.
Good to know
- Wear shoes with good grip: two sections of the trail are slippery.
- Combine it with the Vadu Crișului Cave, right above the waterfall.
- Do not walk on the railway when a train is coming; use the marked paths.
