About the place

The historic monuments list dates the church to the 13th–18th centuries. The Hungarian Wikipedia says the present building is from the 18th century and stands on 16th–17th-century foundations. It has a white tower with a clock and a silver spire, and the churchyard is enclosed by a stone wall.

The church is at the edge of the central park, 150 m from the town hall. The town hall occupies the former Csáky manor of the 18th century, partly demolished in 1950, and the Roman Catholic church is 100 m away. You can see all three in a quarter-hour walk.

Good to know

  • You can usually see the inside on Sunday, at the service.
  • The best view of the tower is from the park on Calea Republicii.
  • Combine it with the Roman Catholic church and the town hall in the former Csáky manor.
